New tablets

Hi all hope your doing well . So this week ive been of wrk again due to sickness and fibro playing up again and heart palpatations . Went to see my dr he's now changed my nortryptaline to tramadol they think the palpatations could be due to the nortryptaline I've been on but there unsure if it is until I've seen the cardiologist at my local hospital been told I've got go on a ECG monitor for 24 hours for them to check what's wrong . I've only just tried the tramadol tonight was just wondering if anyone else take tramadol for fibro and how they got on with them . And does anyone else suffer paplatations is this a cause of fibro as I'm still learning about all this fibro stuff . Sending gentle hugs to you all x

I was diagnosed with fibro six months a go. I get palpitations to, my heart started really racing for no reason in the middle of the night, very scary. Told my doctor, he said it's the fibro but tbh I think once you are diagnosed EVERYTHING is down to fibro

I've only just been dignose 2 months ago . My dr not sure if the tables I was on are causing the palpatations but as the dr said I've been on the nortptalyine for a long time if it was the tablets then how comes I've only just started getting them . And I totally agree there very scary espcaily when your watching TV and your heart starts racing or you wake of a morning and your hearts racing like your been on a long run . Just hope they get to the bottom 9f it my GP said he'd change my tabs but as for palpatations there's nothing he can do till the hospital have finished doing test and got to the bottom of it . Sending you hugs x

I've had heart palpitations plus other probs now for years and years...mainly through a generational heart problem, having said that there are some meds I just CBT take for Fibro because they really make it worse...I would check your meds, as my heart specialist said it wasn't from Fibro it was from a medication I was on...this was a few years ago now..be blessed tiggers1....hope you find the answers..have a lovely day:-) xxxx

hi deborah i have been having heart palps for 12mths or longer i had a heart box on for 2wks day /night and had to push a buttion and write down what was doing when one appeared my results came back as short episodes of SVT plus Ectopic beat they are very frightening i can be talking to some one it will do a fluter and everything gos black for seconds or i get a sudden thump i am not on tablets by choice seeing if i can manage noiticed if im very tired all eaten a meal they are worse anyway was told they not serious but i was told i had fibro 2mths ago but thinking back have had symptons for over a yr and put it down to my psoriatric artritis hope you get sorted and try not to panic when you get one x

yes your symptons are similar to mine but please get checked out i was told mine is nt so much a problem with the heart but the electrical system gone wrong all the same to me my specialist does nt want to see me aagin and told me to go away and carry on doing everything i was before impossible im not on meds for mine trying to cope more i think of them more i get i have a young niece in law with big heart probs and gets the palps she is on meds but she z they don t stop them completely just don t let them put everything down to fibro i think thats why the list of symptons is so long for fibro good luckx

i have a friend with fibro and has been on a cocktail of drugs but does find tramadol very good

Hi tiggers1 I am not on any medication so my palpatations arnt down to tablets. I have had tests done all it showed was I have an extra ectopic beat. so was put down to the fibro, it is very frightening when it happens let us know how you get on when test results come back, take care gentle hug

my svt and ectopic didd nt show where they come from nothing sinister that would cause them i was told perhaps if i had been diagnosed with the fibro first no doubt that where the blame would have lay god help my next holiday insurance quote lol x

I also get palpitations. 2 days ago my heart rate went to 195. I have a blood pressure monitor from the chemist and try to photo the results. I find mornings the worst but can happen anytime of day. I actually have low blood pressure even when heart palpitates.

Heart issues run in my family.

I do not think this is fibro, perhaps underlying heart issues can cause fibro. Who knows.

Do you take ibroprufen, naproxen or any nsaid's? They can affect your heart.

Tramadol I have tried and I personally didn't like. It didn't take away pain and just made me dopey but the next day I always felt very dizzy, sick and once I actually took 2 instead of the prescribed 1 and the next day I pulled a whitey where you go white and are so dizzy and throw up. That said a lot of people get on well with them, my mum loves them and doesn't get sick on them.

I hope you get a good cardiologist. Don't let them fob you off with fibro. My mum is nagging me to go back to Dr for the heart issues but I'm so sick of seeing Drs so I'm just waiting it out at the moment.

Good luck
