New to IBS..Can IBS cause pains all around the waistline?

I have had pain all around my waist line on both lower sides and low back.This is everyday for 2 weeks now.Im told IBS after tests but how can IBS be so painful w eating minimal.I barely eat in fear.It is not really relieved w a BM either and hurts most at night..is this possible to last so long?ANYONE..PLEASE HELP

IBS can cause all the pains you describe and can be felt anywhere on the stomach and even your back because part of the colon wraps round your back.  Sometimes, it is worse in the morning or worse at night.  Symptoms can change rapidly   It can be very mild or very painful. It can be painful to lie on.

Thank you so much..It sure is painful.Why is this lasting 2 weeks straight?I thought ibs is flared w eating?

When I first got IBS, my pain, nausea and constipation went on for two weeks non stop and if was this that had me running to the doctor.  It continued like this for three and a half months before disgnosis.  After diagnosis it improved.

IBS is not just flared by eating.  Stress can cause flare ups without a food trigger.  My IBS flares because of stress.  Food causes me no trouble.  Everyone is different.

So due to not knowing whats wrong it was bad but when you got a diagnosis the stress got better..I am in that boat.I was diagnosed w diverticulitis in March w an infection.It cleared w meds but then started w this pain.After being checked and re checked Im told it is IBS.Im pretty sure ive had IBS all my life but never constant like this or this painful. Im stressed worrying whats up and hoping to never have another flare w diverticulitis.Not sure how to get passed the stress to feel better.vicious cycle
