I started the blueys on Wed 12th Nov, been reading up on forum about other peoples experiences i need help im really confused...
My doctor didnt really give me much info on these... been reading about the orange oil... Ive been getting alot of it last few days and a hell of alot of bowel movements and had 1 accident tonight... whats does this all mean am i doing this wrong??
I dnt see how i doing it wrong ive been really good on low fat things ive been very careful im so confused...
Can someone please shed any light on this to help me and please dont all reply with sayin MAP even though ive read alot of posts im head is boggled and ive saw alot of people just keep getting told MAP.
Help please.
Sorry if i sounded rude when i said dnt reply saying MAP i mean no offence to anyone.
I'm not really sure what to say to help you, I can only speak from my own experiences really
Like you, my doctor prescribed me Orlistat and told me nothing about them, I read the leaflet, found a couple of websites, read about the side effects and put the tablets in a bottom drawer and forgot about them, it does all sound really scarey
Anyways I went out bought loads of loo roll, loo cleaner, panty liners and air fresheners lol and bit the bullet and started to take the tablets
here I am 3 and half months later and 3 stone 2lbs lighter :D
I haven't registered with MAP, everything I have done has been through trial and error (I've had lots of errors woops lol)
I don't personally think your doing anything wrong, if your getting oil it deffinately means the tablets are working for you, but it does also mean you are eating too much fat.
Ok so you said you were being really careful, have you written down everything you have eaten?, some people are more tolerant with certain foods, for e.g. I've read on here about people not being able to eat eggs, I can eat them till the cows come home with no adverse side effects,
I'd say you need to 'play' with your foods .. find out what works for you, what gives you bad side effects and avoid or eat less of them, as another example I still eat sausages, 2 (which is plenty) I'm fine with, 3 has me running for the loo .. before the orlistat I would of eaten 4
your problems might simply be down to portion control,
Each and everyone of us is different, what works for me might not work for you
So all I can say is keep at it, good luck, and don't give up, you will get there
Everyone kept going on about MAP i tried to sign up but kept being met with alot of errors each time i tried so gave up.
The oil has only been really bad today and abit yesterday so perhaps it was something i ate around friday... not sure its just getting me down.
Hopefully it will clear up and gettin better in nxt few days.
I have been writing everything down and i had fish on friday so perhaps its been to do with that i have read a few posts tonight about fish.
Been careful checking fat content on all food ive been eating, maybe im adding it up all wrong or something, ive been reading alot of people saying 30g a day but ill def play around with food abit more... im so determind to get this working for me as my doctor said if i havent lost any weight in 4 weeks he wont be giving me them again.
I just dnt want to end up in the wrong frame of mind and put doubt in my head that its not going to work and that i cant keep it up or i will fail badly... ill jus need to try some other foods this week and see if i have a better week of it thanks xx
Well done on your weight loss :D thats great. I hope i can do just as good.
No need to thank me for replying, I get nervous when I do, I'm no doctor and no expert but if anything I have gone through can help or just give a lil bit of encouragement then I'm all for it :-)
I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the MAP website doesn't work and you actually have to ring, but I'm not 100% sure, as I said I haven't registered.
I've also read about fish, with orlistat not recognising good and bad fats so it gets rid of the good fats in fish :-(
As I've said in a different post, I don't actually check the fat content of anything I eat, I try to be careful and use common sense, I'm my own worst enemy, tell me I can't have anything and I'll go and eat it just to prove I can so ner lol and for me it seems to be portion control that has been my downfall, why have 1 biscuit when I can have the whole packet *rolls eyes* orlistat is helping me behave myself :-)
your doctor sounds like a right sourpuss, you should see mine, I'm sure you could go see mine with a leg falling off, an axe in your head and he'll say 'oh don't worry about that have some slimming tablets' I personally think people should be given at least a month to get used to the orlistat, and decide after the 3 months like xenical suggest if after you have lost the initial 5% of your body weight, I'd argue the toss with your doc when you next see him anyways if he says no more *nods*
Im also pretty sure you can do as well as me, everyone can, I'm the biggest laziest greediest couch potato I know lol .. If I can do it .. so can you!
