New to Orlistat

Hi everyone,

This is my 2nd day on Orlistat pills after my Dr had prescribed them to me but without much advice other than to take them 3x a day before, during or up to 1 hr after a meal. No mention of what to eat only advice she gave me was to eat sensibly and try to cut down on portion sizes, no mention of how much fat to eat during the day. Now after reading through a few posts on your forum, i've come to know that i should only eat up to 30g of fat each day.

I have experienced the horrible side effects of oily stains and terrible diarrhoea almost immediately after a meal. I will now try to cut down on the fat i eat at each meal to illiminate this unwanted side effect. Would appreciate any other advice as i have a lot of weight to lose.

Cheers

Hi Savannah

I also have a lot of weight to lose. I've been on Orlstat for 4 weeks and I found that things settle down after a couple of weeks as long as you keep to a low fat diet (no more than 30g a day and no more than 15g in any one meal).

exercise is another key thing along with the fat intake, ideally you're building a new healthier lifestyle with exercise and sensible eating. try green tea to boost your metabolism, another suggestion i saw recently was eating a small apple after a meal (i tend to after lunch or dinner) as its meant to help break down the fat.

Thanks for your comments!
