Hi there today I have took my first dose of Prozac 20mg. Previously I was on citalopram 40mg but started tapering off them 6 weeks ago due to them not working for me anymore after 3 years on them and they made me sleep constantly. Took my last cit yesterday and Gp wanted me to go straight on to the Prozac today. I’m hoping this medicine works better for my PTSD. I had horrendous side affects starting the cit but managed to ride it out, so I’m expecting the Prozac to bring side affects too. Has anyone else changed from Cit to Prozac? I’d appreciate hearing some feedback. Thank you 😊
Yes!!! I changed from 40 mg cit after being on it for 6 yrs and stopped working. I started with 20 5 wks ago and then went up to 40 mg a week later. So now I am 5 1/2 weeks in and really feeling a difference!! I feel pretty damn good. The side effects were bad until day 22 on Prozac. Mainly nausea for me and heightened anxiety. My mood swings went away almost immediately. I really like this drug so far but did have to hang in there.
