new to tablet what shud i expect

Was on citapram n sertraline had reactipn to both so hoping 3rd time lucky x

My only warning would be not to expect results straightaway. It takes at least 2 weeks to start working, like all these antidepressants.

Ok hun ty.is it true they can rause ur bloodpressure?have u been on them long n wat do u take x

Hi Donna. Raised bp is one of the listed side effects but it doesn't always happen. They always have to list all the possible side effects, but most are not common and everyone reacts differently. For 6 years I've been on 225mg venlafaxine and 30mg mirtazapine a day, and it's been very effective for me. I've had no problems for the last year, so my psychiatrist has agreed to me starting to reduce the medication. He's cutting back the mirtazapine first, I took my first lower dose (15mg) yesterday so it's too early to notice any effects. One side effect I experienced was problems having an orgasm (apologies for being blunt!) so I'm hoping the reduction will help my sex life!

Wow dint no can take both tigether ..i wanted mitazapine but dr said it mainly for prescription.im hopin these tabs work as panic attacks daily and i have a baby so i must get better x

Whats you new tablet ?

Sorry I mean dosage ?

35.7 hun the prolonged release tablet x

I started just on venlafaxine then psychiatrist added in mirtazapine. When I take my prescription in to chemists, pharmacists sometimes query me being on 2 antidepressants together but it's worked for me. I gather the combination is only prescribed by psychiatrists.

Does venla make u drosy when first take..are u on the slow realse ones too..x

Nice low starting dose. I have in the last 8 weeks come of mirtazpine ( which made me ill and put me in dark places ) and move up recently to 225mg of venlafaxine. the only think I have noticed is loss of appetite and at the high dose now my blood pressure has been up

Thats wat i was worried bout getting high bp..how often shud i get bp checked on this tablet?do u take morning or nite..

I take mine in the morning. And my gp check it monthly unless I have any other symptoms ( such as pulsating veins in arm I could feel and see veins pulsating). It no big shakes now I know what it is. But they will keep a close eye on you and I have propanonal to help with anxiety ( which also control blood pressure too )

I was given betablockers but too scared take as i always read side effects i no i sgudnt but it said if stopped suddendly cud have heart attack or death so i went upset n dint touch um x

Do venla interfere wid ur heart as im tginking get ecg when takung.prob wid me im scared of death slighest pain im on phone to nhs or 999 its a joke i want feel normal

Venflaxine can raise you blood pressure, which if you suffer with anxiety will probably send you into the panic. If you can accept this and get you doctor to give you meds to help  then you will be fine. This obviously needs to be weighed up thou as if venflaxine is not improvin after the intial 2-3 weeks then it maybe you need to tlak about increasing dose gradually to see if it wil work for you and also if you can cope with side effects

Whilst the side effects are nice I managed even with my anxiety to stick with venaflaxine

Donna these side effects are for heart patient thou. And your heart isnt the problem donna

I hope i b ok i got small baby n i dnt want him c me when older having a attack n being scared x i guess got take day by day i start monday as o had allwrgic reaction to sertaline otha day

You will be ok and if it doesnt work they get you on the right thing. best to start on low doses to so the sideeffects are minimal and they can track how you feel
