Hi Gaz if you are still in pain they are obviously stopped working for you and you need to see your rhumy. I gather you do become immune to them excuse the pun . You need something else living with pain is horrible I use CBD oil it def helps but is expensive. May be you just need a new drug. Good luck mate don't give in to it x

Hi Gaz, sorry to hear things arent going well for you and hoping for much better days for you.   perhaps when you talk to you rheumatologist he or she will understand and make some changes to your meds. Dont despair, we all have these awful down times when the future looks bleak, but thankfully things do change got to keep on fighting for ourselves though....and it does get tiring I know.  Sending you courage.

Thankyou treezsh for replying and your kind words. Keep on keeping on is what ive allways done and i guess i will get back to it. The blips are getting more frequent so just got to try harder

Gaz, you've had a good run on humira and MTX! I wish I could get something to last that long. Sounds like you have lost a lot of weight too. I hope you find something to help you, theres lots of different meds now so you will have a choice. I am taking Zeljanx XR now because it is a pill once a day. I get so tired of taking shots. I took Enbrel and it hurt like hell. My husband had to give them to me. Good luck and keep us updated

Hello river22

Thanks for your reply. My wife pointed out an article about a newish drug called Remicade. Am seeing my consultant on 28th of this month. Gonna ask about a change. Also am sure the amount of codeine im taking for pain has a big impact on my weight loss. Think i need to be more assertive this time instead of being my usual accepting self. Thankyou and take care. I hope this msg finds you in decent health.

When you see your RHUMY challenge him about the CAUSE.  It's a lot better to treat when you know the cause.  Yes, yes I know the cause of an autoimmune dysfunction illness is the immune system telling the body to attack itself.  But I had a conversation with someone recently who pointed out there are 148 auto-immune diseases listed (I'm in the UK I don't know where you are on anyone else, surely its relevant on a Board like this) and he suggested that either the body is insane or the medical profession is misled!

I don't want to get you into trouble with your doctor - they are the experts, but have they tested you for any parasites?  This guy suggested to me that it could be caused by a parasite deceiving the body's immune system by disguising itself in an overcoat of the body's own fluids eg lipids.  We all have parasites, toe common ones in humans are toxoplasma gondii (from cat flu) and demodex mites which we ALL get from birth but are normally no problem UNLESS you have a weak immune system which can come about from age, stress or medication.  Doctors band on about bacteria and viruses but seem to have forgotten fungal infections and parasites.  Demodex mites are known to carry bacteria and by symbiosis bacillae (fungi) ; you may just need an acaricide eg ivermectin.

Just a thought.
