After losing 3 stone by myself within a year i came to a standstill....ive bee goin to the gym 5 times a week and weightwatchers but couldnt get any lower. so the docs gave me the orlistat yesterday and so far feeling ok. What can i expect to lose weightwise if i continue the exercise and the low cal/fat diet whilst taking these tabs?
Welcome
All I can I say is everyone is different and we all lose at different rates. I just read loads of posts to get a feel of what people were experiencing and what I could potentially expect. Orlistat works for some and not for others.
I am new myself, been on Orlistat for just over a week now. Not had side effects and kept to no more than 30g of fat a day and no more than 15g in one sitting. You said you were on weightwatches... Be careful with some of the foods and snacks as I have noticed some are a wee bit high, especially the biscuits, they work on saturated fat rather than total fat. Try to stick to foods no more than 5g of fat per 100g. WW is a different way of dieting in the fact you can eat anything as long as it is in the point range. With Orlistat you cannot eat anything high in Fat, and if you do you will know about it.
My advise would be stick to the exercise and keep to 30g of fat a day and no more than 15g a meal.
We all really friendly here so any questions just ask. But i would recommend reading older posts, you learn so much and get great tips on what to eat and what to avoid.
Good luck and keep us up-to-date.

Pearl has summed it up pretty well :D
WW's food are not a no no you just have to look at the total fat content as with any other Low Fat foods some are still well over the recommended no more than 5g's per 100g's but there is enough low fat foods well within the range.
Snack a Jacks seem to be a good choice, you have caramel, chocolate and salt and vinegar flavours. Walkers Baked crisps are also good but you can have 2 snack a jacks to one packet of walkers baked and they are more filling I find.
I also have bagel's as they are the same as 2 slices of bread and again more filling.
Activa yoghurt's only have a trace of fat to they are a good thing to have around.
WW's frozen desserts are also good, caramel crunch and chocolate muffin are yummy and just over 3g's so a great pudding and means you don't miss out on the sweet tastes.
Green tea (I used it flavoured with lemon) has been offered up as a way to break down the fat you do take in as well as my nurse telling me to have a small apple after a main meal as this does the same thing.
Good luck hope this works for you, after speaking to my nurse last week she did say the body does get used to diets so needs to be re-educated to lose weight so a change in diet maybe just the thing you need to get your body started again.
thanx for your replies....i stopped doing weightwatchers couple months ago as i were goin nowhere after losing the first 2 stone. so now i weigh myself every saturday morning, i diet all week and exercise every day and usually i have saturdays off and treat myself with a takeaway...since ive started taking orlistat (last saturday) i have been having no more than 30g of fat. have any of you tho had that taste in your mouth like youve been sucking on 2p coins??!! i just cant get rid of it x
