I am having real troubles with Patient website since the ‘new look’ was introduced.
Titles of discussions are not formatted correctly and flow from one line to the next, but worst of all, the ‘mark as read’ facility just does not work any more. I get no notification of posts I haven’t read yet. I have tried different browsers (Firefox, Chrome), without success.
sorry to hear you are having problems but I’m not experiencing any problems. have you tried checking your spam box, could be your email provider is filtering your messages .
i agree, my saying is if its not broken don’t fix it so why do Web managers always do it, wait for the site to be working well and alter it, i think its lost it flow and is much harder to navigate.
What do we know though we are only the end user
Yes Graham, they are having a lot of teething problems, I am experiencing the same problems as you. It was unworkable for me when it first online, there was a lot missing like notifications. Things have slowly improved but, the ‘mark as read’ needs to return along with emails.
Having worked in IT for many years, we used to test systems before going live, perhaps thus is an old fashioned concept!! Goodness know why they wanted to change it anyway, it has been changed for the worse with lots of bugs.
Hi Graham,
You are not receiving emails because you have switched them off in your settings. You can go to https://auth.patient.info/my-account/email to set which ones you want to receive. Are you still receiving notifications on this page? There are issues with that page such as no “Mark as read” for individual posts but there is a fix for this which I am pushing to get out.
Re the titles of discussions - I have not seen this or had other feedback about it, can you give me examples and also details of which set up you get this in ie laptop, phone or tablet with model, browser being used and operating system. The more info you can give me the easier it will make it to check and to try and recreate.
Regards,
Alan
I was wondering, too, why it changed and not so much for the better. I liked the “mark as read” rather than having to click on every notification even after I usually read through a conversation on my own.
Since I was unable to check my notifications for a few days, there were many to read and it took so long to try to click on them and go back to the list.
Seemed to work better when I first joined earlier this year.
Hopefully it will get better again. I do like checking out the different postings and sometimes adding comments.
I know Emails are off, but it’s notifications about which posts I have read or not read that are not showing up.
Titles look like this now … see the title is broken up.
It should read “New web format not working”
not
“New web format not wor”
“king”
Apparently the people at Patient cannot see the ‘split title’ problems, so I have sent screenshots to them so they can see. They know about notification problems, and are working on a fix.
I noticed that split title a couple of weeks ago and posted about it. Just wish they hadn’t made changes that weren’t necessary. Hopefully the “fix” will work.
Can you please let me know the details I mentioned above re browsers etc as I do not have this problem and have checked in various browsers all of which look fine. Also, do you use an adblocker?
Re your notifications - I’m not sure what the issue is? From your screenshot you have unread notifications as indicated by the red dot. When you click that link to go to https://patient.info/forums/me/notifications do you have a list of links? Any with red dots are unread ones. As I said there are various issues with this page such as no individual “Mark as read” buttons and also you cannot load the next page until you have less than one page of unread notifications. These will get fixed soon.
Regards,
Alan
