Hi everyone. I am a 57 year old male that has had Meniere's Disease for 20 years now. The past 2 years the very LOUD ringing along with the roaring in my left ear is almost unbearable. I have 80% hearing loss, but the ringing and roaring are very very load. Only thing that works is white noise. I can't sleep without it and during the day I have the television volume pretty high. Just wondering if anyone has had any kind of success with getting rid of this noise?

Yes i have! I had really terrible noise that kept me awake at noght and i could hear it over the TV. I went and got my ears tested again. I have hearing loss but could not understand why the tinnitus was so much worse.

I tried to clean my ears to hear better with cotton buds and wax remover..things got worse and worse...and I had a warm water syringe ..two sessions and that removed impacted earwax...the improvement didnt happen pvernoght but it did happen...the tinnitus reduced until i could stay asleep without waking to freak out with the noise.

I also cut down on salt and caffeine.

so scanning the threads here..I have been there with unbearable noise that I thought could never inprove. i would say check for impacted wax, get ears syringed at the doctors. Hope that helps and good luck.

Yes, I had excellent success with the 'white noise' hearings aids.  Started using them about six years ago as the tinnitus was so bad. I was told to use them for at least two hours a day over a period of twelve months.  The improvement was amazing!!  Since then when the tinnitus returns I just use them for a few hours per day.  I now go months without needing them.  Perserverance is the key.  All the best.

Oh thanks I am going to try those. I hve thought about trying those and when I read this..I will do. THANKs so much!
