Next step after UFE

Hi, I was diagnosed with fibroids in June 2016 following a untrasound. I have 2 main Ines that are 6-7 cm. my main symptoms are pelvic pain and bowel problems (constipation). Before fibroids were diagnosed I had joint injections and nerves burnt as a spinal consultant thought my pain was purely from my si joint, The gynaecologist said he feels at least some of my pain is caused by the fibroids. I can't take a lot of pain killers due to asthma and my mum had primary breast cancer twice so hormones are a no no. I had UFE in September and it was ok no pain or symptoms. The radiologist said my fibroids are not very vascular so he didn't know if it would work. I saw my GP in December and she said she didn't think it has as my symptoms are the same or worse. I am seeing my gynaecologist next week and the junior doctor at follow up said I should investigate surgery as it may be an option. I am feeli fed up now and would like a hyterectomy. So sorry for the long post but for those who had failed UFE what was your next option? I don't really want to wait for a year for the next step.Thank you in advance for your help, Sarah

My UFE failed. I am heading into laparoscopic surgery on Tuesday to have them removed.  Not my uterus - just my fibroids

Thank your reply, it's good to know hysterectomy is not the only option surgically after UFE.

It isn’t the only option. I wish my country supported high frequency ultra sound where they use sound waves to destroy fibroid tissue.

They don’t and it costs 15000 to do it privately

Maybe yours does?
