Hi has anyone suffered from extreme sweating at night since their op. Most nights I am waking up drenched and having to change. Didn't know if anything was connected? Thanks
Could be medication
Hi Crossy:
I haven't had an operation yet, hopefully never. But I have had night sweats off and on for over 40 years. 'Soaking' the bed is not an overstatement. The soaking goes from head to toes. I wake up feeling fine and I never had an identifiable cause. I heard that it was my body's way of fighting infection. But I had no noticeable signs of any infection.
If you have never had this before, you may wish to have your blood tested for raised levels of metal ions from the implant, which your body may consider as an infection harmful to it. Also pay attention to any pain in the area of the hip.

Hi Crossy, Yes I have/do have the same, very cold on some nights and on others I could set the bed on fire, difficult to know when to wear a big t-shirt and when to wear nothing. Its not a problem, just our bodies reacting to a "foregin body", it happens less now as I am 4 months post op.
Best wishes, Dot.
Hi Crossy ... yes, I do too and honestly, I smell funkier or something(anybody else noticed this ?) - I think it is the medication and the fact that muy body is healing ...-- I have a floor fan (standing fan) on during the night to sort of keep the air moving ... somehow it helps me and I am damp instead of soaking wet ... anyway, have a good night - big hug
Hi Crossy
Strange you should say thet as I have had the same thing too. I couldn't understand why and stll don't really. I imagine it's the anaesthetic etc working it's way out of the system.
I must be lucky I haven't had night sweats just insomnia I end up having a hot milk I am going to try it with a tot of rum or brandy in it lol on serious side I don't want to rely on parasol night time if I can help it
