Nightime intensity

My sciatica has been acting up ...leg and ankle pain has been bad...but I can deal during the day...problem is at night the pain is so intense I cannot get an hour sleep, no position is relief only a hot bath through out the night...I fell asleep in the bath last night for a min. I'm on naproxen and lidocaine patches which did not help at all...I'm think in about adding in extra strength Tylenol..what's your ideas

Here's what I recommend for fellow TKR patients.  Mayse some of it will help...

Also, try some Voltaren Gel (RX in the US).  Fantastic topical anti-inflammatory.

Hi.. sleep on your back, with a pillow under your knees. Keep your feet flat ,and put pillows ,maybe more than one ,,until you feel pain free,,, It does work ...

It probably depends on what is causing your sciatica.  I had severe pain in right hip, leg, ankle and foot for eight months.  Had to use a wheel chair almost every morning, just to go from the bedroom to the kitchen.  I have had Lupus  pain for thirty-two years, but nothing like this.  Two epidurals did nothing for it, nor did oxycodone.  I finally got an appointment with my Rheumatologist.  He diagnosed it as Fibromyalgia, and he doesn't treat fibro with narcotics,  Instead, I was told to take Tylenol Arthritis three times a day ( every eight hours).  I was very skeptical but did as he suggested.  After just a week, the pain was greatly reduced and I no longer needed a wheel chair!

Get an MRI and find out what is the cause of your pain, if you don't know what to treat you can do more harm than good. See a specialist Spine and Joint or Neroligist.

Very nice...I will try this . thx

Good luck!

Question?  Do you absolutely know the root cause of your sciatica?  Price is correct...you have to find that out and treat the cause.  Here are my experiences...

Gotta find the cause.  I always start with my chiropractor and proceed from there...
