No more pain

I am not sure if this will be allowed on here but I tried so many different treatments and therapy’s over 6 and a half years. Yes a long time I know. After doing alot of research I finally got to the bottom of the problem. I paid to see a private specialist in London ‘Dr Michael Durtnall’ who specialises in vulval pain mainly caused by deeper issues. mine being a problem with my coccyx (I would never of known) as I never had back pain. The problem with my coccyx was trapping the pudendal nerve which travels to the genitals. After 3 visits and 4 visits to his physio I have been pain free since may ‘pain free’ is a big statement I know but it is true. Plus I am not on any medication anymore either. I had been on a cocktail of medicines and to now not he on anything it is amazing. Now I know there can be many reasons for vulval pain but I just wanted to make everyone aware that problems with the coccyx could be one of them.

I am so pleased for you Katie. I have had vulval pain since mid February. I too am on different medications which lessen the pain but don’t take it away completely. It’s really hard work sometimes with doctors and the nerve pain medication as it takes a few weeks to see if it’s working all the time still in pain. I’m usually ok now for a few hours in the morning but the more I sit at my desk and as the day wears on the pain comes back. Anyway I noticed that before the pain starts in the morning I have sensitivity around my coccyx and top of my thighs I can get up and move around and it eases but as the day goes on the vulval pain wont go away. I’ve got an nhs physio assessment next week so hopefully if it’s not cancelled will be able to get a physio diagnosis and start moving on with treatment. I have to say that 4 visits isn’t a lot so he really must be good. May I ask how many weeks/months that was over?
