No period two months

Haven’t had a period in two months yesterday it started and it’s heavier than having is this normal leading up to menopause

Hi,  i am in perimenopause and this definitely happens to me.  I miss 2 months, then the next was a flood.  Now I’m 21 days but it’s lighter...anything abnormal is normal in peri.

Irregular periods is one of the symptoms of perimenopause.  I’m going through the same thing.  It’s actually one of the most common symptoms leading up to menopause.

But the heavy period too?

I was heavy and clotted terrible for 7 days...back in march after not having 1 for 2 months.  Looked like a crime scene.  Never had that before or since...fingers crossed 🤞

During perimenopause, our bodies produce a LOT of estrogen BUT...very little progesterone.  That means that we can skip periods (low progesterone levels but HIGH estrogen) and still build a lining.  We can miss months but, once the progesterone picks up enough to shed that lining...it's THICK.  This leads to a HEAVY bleed.  Quite NORMAL for this time in our lives.  . As long as you're getting a shed (period) and it's going...no worries.  . Of course, you always want to run things past your doc *IF* it keeps up this way (just to be sure) but, right now...it sounds like it's normal to me as a lay person who has done a lot of research.
