No sleep since taking the pills

Hi, just wondered if anyone else has had trouble sleeping with these tablets and if there is any positive advice out there.

I have suffered with anxiety and insomnia for 15 years now and have just 'put up' with it. Now I'm tired and want nothing more than to get regular good quality sleep and to not feel like I'm doing everything in panic mode. I went to my GP at the beginning of October and he suggested that my insomnia was related to depression.

I guess I'm not in arguement with him over this and was prescribed 20mg Citalopram daily. Thing is, my sleep has got WORSE not better, although I'm definitely less anxious than before and am generally functioning better. Didn't sleep a wink last night and am planning to stay up til I fall down tonight. Difficult when you have kids to organise and a house to run.

HELP!!! Anyone got a similar impression of these ADs and know any good tricks?

had exactly the same for about 3 to 4 weeks - hot sweats and waking up early hours then staying awake. Naely 8 weeks in now and sleeping well. Exercise late at night helps - walk fairly brisk if you can.

stick with it you will feel the benefit. I am loads better having had quite bad depressio

Thanks, been on it for 9 weeks now and wondering if I'll ever sleep again. Had between 2 and 4 hours a night since I started. Funny cos the original reason I went to the doctors was insomnia...... Struggling to get through the day

hi bella - hows it going - is the sleep starting to kick in. Sometimes we think we need more sleep than we perhaps do. I try and get up and do something to take my mind off things if I can't sleep. I am sure you will eventually sleep again once the dose and the serotonin or whatever it is called balances.

let us know how you are getting on
