Has anyone ever experienced anxiety/panic in the middle of the night and you just jolt up and erase all trace of sleep? I often have them and sometimes, I just sit there, heart racing, along with the chest discomfort, and you just don't know what to do because you're so lost?
Sometimes it could be a dream or interfering thoughts causing this. I did have this quite often recently.

I don't remember having dreams so it must have been the interfering thoughts. Most probably thoughts that would often go as, "I might not be able to wake up" or "Am I going to get a heart attack while I sleep?". I'm 22 years old and it's eating me up all the time.
I get this sometimes. During the day I can feel a panic attack coming and can know what to expect but when I get one in the middle of the night I just wake up in a full blown panic attack. Also there was a time I was waking up several times a night with very strange feelings or thoughts and it wasn't panic attacks but it was disrupting my sleep and I couldn't sleep through the night.
It's horrible, isn't it? The panic attacks in the day are so much more predictable (not really, but in a sense, you know its bound to come any time soon). In the middle of the night though, it's a different story. I'd feel really scared and then I start hyperventilating and then I'd be up the entire night. It's kind of relieving that I'm not alone, then again, I hope all of us can just live a life free of anxiety/panic.
