Non slip socks

Has anyone tried non slip socks instead of shoes after op. I was

thinking I could wear these in bed and keep them on till I got help with shoes in the morning or even while feet are swollen. I do have cold feet at night even in summer.

Hi, I did not try non-slip socks and don't think they would have been comfortable as both my legs/feet were very swollen for quite a few weeks with a big dent around my ankles when socks removed. I was given an aid to put my sock on and a long handled shoehorn so slept with no socks on.

My feet are always like blocks of ice so my electric overblanket is a godsend and keeps all of me toasty warm. I also had a pair of full slippers (a size larger than usual) that with the long handled shoehorn I could put on at night to go to the loo.

During the day I wear a pair of riding boots, they keep my feet warm and give support to both arches and ankles, I dont zip up the left boot unless I am going out.

Hope that helps and very best wishes for your op, Dot x

I hadnt even thought of getting bigger slippers. Must do that today. Nobody warns of all the hidden costs like bigger shoes panties etc.

Hi I bought slipper socks and was told by the nurses not to wear them because there is a chance of slipping on the floor in the ward and also if anything sharp gets dropped and not picked up you could stand on it and get stabbed / cut. So maybe the rule will be the same for you. They prefer trainers or flat shoes for the ward for when you start walking. I bought trainers with velcrow straps so I could still put on my shoes.

I wear anti-slip socks because they are more comfortable to me Terry cloth) - however, not really walking on them because I was told I need support when walking - and yes, there is still a chance that you might slip - and indeed, bigger size slippers ... I know right, nobody tells you about these things ... I also bought granny panties ... cotton as they don't touch the scar ....
