Nonstick Gauze

So, I am having my second outbreak and it progressed very quickly. A bit of itching Sunday night. Woke up with definite blisters forming (all in one small spot) and by later in the day they were pus filled. Had a bath and overnight they ruptured as I woke up with some slight discomfort. Well, it is Wednesday night and they are in an area where there is skin constantly touching and I feel like it’s impeding the healing process (I have also finished 3 days of valacyclovir)
I am wondering if there’s any harm in placing a small piece of nonstick gauze in that area to encourage it to dry and heal. It’s not terribly painful, though I do have to be careful when I wipe and I feel like the location is making it harder to heal. My first outbreak had one in a very similar spot, but just a bit more centered, and it was the last of my sores to heal.

Pictures included for location reference. When the skin isn’t stretched, you could imagine how close the blister could be to other skin.

Thanks!
