Normal Life From GAD

Has anyone back to your "normal" life (from GAD) from taking medications: antidepressants, anti-anxiety,...? If so, how long did it take to get to normal life since starting taking your medications?

i have GAD.

life has not been normal since diagnosis and medications made it worse.

i hope you find something to help

Yes u will get better but it is a slow journey. I was diagnosed Dec 18 and had a terrible. Three months, layed up in bed, shaking, chest pain, derealization. I could hardly leave the house. Gradually the meds kicked in and my life returned. Its only over the last month or so that I can say my life is nearly back to normal. I still have the odd anxious moment but generally can get on with everything. So stick in there, it will get better.

So, your meds took about 7 months to know full positive effects. I have taken my meds for 5 months. I started increasing to my maximum dose 2 weeks ago. I hope I will feel as normal me again, soon.

hi tracy, ive had anxiety since childhood. im in my early 60s now, but doing well.anxiety rarely goes away 100%, but u can learn how to manage it and feel a lot better.counseling can be helpful. as well as medication, meditation FOR ANXIETY ON YOU TUBE), exercise, good nutrition, staying busy, . dont get anxious about the condition or it can feel worse.
some days are better than others, but i just keep pushing forward and basically ignore it.
always remember that any symptoms caused by anxiety can not hurt you! They feel weird but that’s all they can do.
you will be ok!
