I've had anxiety for a long time and it has caused my heart rate to sky rocket. I've been on metoprolol just to regulate my heart rate a little better (for 5 months). But recently my resting heart rate just sitting and doing work or watching a movie has been in the high 50s-low 60s, is this too low? I'm supposed to take xanax but i'm scared it'll make my heart rate too slow.
athletes and people who exercise regularly usually have a resting heart rate of 40… i think anything under 40 is when it starts to become a problem. but of course always confirm with a medical professional.
