Normal TSH but dropping free T4

Can anyone enlighten me?! I have had 3 TFTs in the last year. My TSH levels are normal but my free T4 levels have been dropping with each test.....apparently this is normal. I am 59 and female and recently I my energy and enthusiasm have taken a nose dive and even my job, that

I love, is a chore.

Hi Nicky,if i were you I would join the excellent facebook group for thyroid problems ,they are all people who are having problems getting any sense out of their GP & you can ask anything you like & I guarantee that there will be someone who can help you with it.Don't allow your GP to undermine you ,you have a right to be treated for your issues with your thyroid & the group will help you to sort out what you need to ask for test wise.If you go to your GP informed about your condition he will take more notice of what you ask.I went untreated for 9 years before I took matters into my own hands & learned all I could. There are lots of sites online but mostly from America & some things do not apply in the UK but the thyroid uk group on Facebook is UK based so of more interest here.Hope this points you in the right direction, let me know how you get on & never ever give up on trying to feel well, you can get there with a little work on your part & help from others in the same situation

Thank you,Brewster,I will look for the FB site.

Which group did you mean....there ares several!

Poor you..well my T4 is dropping. This was evident in my last bloods after my radioactive iodine. At that time it was my TSH that was suppressed then T3 went up..For some reason T4 stayed normal. My endocrinologist said he's watching the T4 and T3. TSH is still suppressed he said that it might take a while (even if Hypo) for that to raise. He will treat if my T4 drops its borderline now. I feel exhausted too..It's truly awful..I love my job and feel very frustrated. How low is your T4?
