Hi i was given Nortriptalyne for headaches, but i also suffer from Anxiety. I dont feel it has helped me on the anxiety part. Anyone taking it for any reasons, has it helped?
hi how long hav you been taking it it took almost two months to get in my system i hav take it for insomnia and neuropathic pain. i suffer with anxiety too and no i dont think they have helped that. i take beta blockers for my anxiety abd they have literally saved my life
I’VE been on it since april 2018. I was given it by my neurologist for headaches, and it has helped that, but i dont think it has helped my anxiety as I still feel it, some days more than others. I read this is more for depression and nerve pain… I have xaxax, and hydroxexine for anxiety, but ive been so scared into taking meds i hardly take them, only when im super desperate. I was given beta blockers a while back, took it only for a bit but now its just a blur… but i do find myself struggling daily with anxiety.
i just got put on them too by my neurologist for headaches but she didn’t tell me they are a antidepressants. I haven’t taken them because I help surpress my anxiety with alcohol and Im sure they won’t mix well.

what dosage are you on? my psychiatrist just prescribed these to me for my anxiety. im currently taking 20 mgs at night along with Effexor. i was given them to help with my anxiety? doesnt sound like anyone has had any luck with them for anxiety. that worries me. ive only been taking them for about a month now.
Ever since i started with anxiety 3 yrs ago, i scared myself with so many meds i kept getting prescribed by my doc. But now i told myself i wasnt going to google this medication and just took it with faith it would work and it did. So far. So i now decided to google it and its an antidepressant of some kind used for depression but they do prescribe it for other issues. You should give them a try, maybe the alcohol has soemthing to do with your headaches?
i started at 10 and went up to 30 in a matter of 4 weeks. 1 week ago she upped me to 40mg because i told her my headaches were comign back, i really cant tell yet it its fully working. I for sure know it hasnt helped me with anxiety. I dont take anything else but this, but she told me she would leave me on for another 6 months, and if my headached didnt go down she would taper me off. … im really afraid of that as i dont want to experience withdrawl symptoms. Hopefully these 40 will do the work. Maybe your doc feels this would be a good cocktail with the effexor? how long have you been on that? and has i helped? alone? keep me updated.
