So 6 days ago I began getting a tingling sensation around my genital area, kind of like insects are crawling under my skin. Mainly under my butt cheeks and a little bit on my labia. I have also had a slight increase in vaginal discharge - however, it is still a normal colour and smell. I have no had any sores appear and there is no presence of any tears/cuts. There is no pain, a little itching for a couple of days which has stopped now, today, a little bit of burning under my butt cheeks (however there is no redness, blisters, sores or ANYTHING there).
I went to the doctor and they took a viral swab of the area to test for genital herpes. I am still waiting on the results and still waiting to see if any other symptoms are going to appear! All other STD swabs came back negative.
I guess I really want to know - can prodromal symptoms last a whole week? Does my description sound like herpes? Are there any other reasons that the tingling could be occuring?! Am I going to break out soon?! Please help
