I am scared I may have seizures. I get lots of Deja vu feelings and keep reading it's all linked to seizures.
I have been to docs and neuro's who came back saying they dont think it is seizures or epilepsy however I have been reading forums saying that deja vu is most common sign of seizures and people have been misdiagnosed as it being anxiety and it actually turns out to be a seizure disorder after having a grand mal seizure years later. This is what concerns me believing real people on forums?
No Dizziness accompanies it - Not sure that means anything. Makes me feel a little panicky though and slightly tired
Hi Jonathan I just want to say that I have deja vu feelings all the time and more. I get very weird feelings about the past and the future and my feelings have nothing to do with seizures as I have been suffering with these strange feelings on and off for years. If you are really worried I would ask your dr to refer you to a specialist and have them do an EEG and maybe other tests for epilepsy. I have had these tests a long time ago and they couldnt find anything. An EEG is a monitoring method to record electrical activity of the brain. If you do have epilepsy or any type of seizures going on (there are non epileptic seizures) this should pick it up. Are you getting these feelings often, randomly or at a particular time. Do you feel that you have been to a particular place before but dont remember it? I do suggest going to see your dr and having a chat with them and I am not sure if you should always believe what you read in public forums. I hope you get some answers soon. Take care.
Hi Rydia, Thank you for the advice. Yes I have had numerous tests eeg, mri, docs appointments, neuro appointments and all come back clear. Why do I get the deja vu still It can only last seconds and lesaves me panicking it may lead to a full seizure.
Many people who have severe anxiety and stress get Deja vu . Remember that the brain is hyper anxious with anxiety, which can cause rapid firing and quickly bring up buried thoughts, past events, etc.
Just try to relax your mind as much as possible. The more anxious and stressed out you are, the more this will happen. If you have something in your life causing anxiety, it’s a good idea to speak with a counselor. As long as you have seen your doctor and have testing done, which you did, work on reducing your stress. Take care of yourself
I never thought anxiety would cause me to have Deja vu feelings ive been having that experience once in while its a very weird feeling but never had any seizers yet i hope not .
