Hi I have mild gastritis and I'm on Dexilant and Protonix. 2 days ago I had an endoscopy and I feel like before that, my reflux wasn't this bad... at least I'm not sure if it's reflux or just throat irritation or some sort? It's a tingling feeling in my throat... its not painful but it feels like something is flowing up and it won't go away no matter how many antacids I take... I'm so worried because I already have mild esophagitis from acid burning my esophagus. Can't figure out what this feeling is. It lasts for hours throughout the day... these symptoms just started...
I'm not very familiar with what silent reflux feels like but this is a tingling feeling in my throat that won't go away even when I chew on Tums all day
Silent reflux is generally acid gas coming up into your throat. In really bad cases it almost causes choking. Gaviscon tablets chewed slowly can help in the early stages.
Hi, I too am frustrated with my symptoms and doctors just say mild acid reflux... But everything I eat or drink, even water causes that irritating flutter in my upper esophagus. It started with chest tightness for hours 9 month ago, then maybe 2 months ago turned to feeling like a pill stuck in my throat.
ive never had any pains nor stomach complaints.
personally I think I'm allergic to the Prednisone I'm on for an autoimmune issue but doctors don't believe that.
im trying aloe Vera juice, just started DGL licorice chews, I eat pretty darn well, only meats and veggies. Stopped wine for most part 2 months ago, only 1 oz coffee occassionally. No acidic foods. It's so frustrating!
I even make sure to sit up after eating verses reclining, but still have symptoms.
Oh I have dry mouth now too so lack of healthy saliva to help with digestion.
Ugh.
Hope this goes away soon for us!
