not sure if i want to take citalopram

Hey,

I have been prescribed Citalopram but after reading all these comments I am not sure if I want to take them. I have bad anxiety and always think I am going to faint or die and don't want to feel worse than I already do.

Are the side effects really that bad?

Also if your are taking it can you go to work?

hI chubbs, I know the side effects may sound daunting to you and I would be lying to denie that they are not very nice. However as you have also read, they only last for a couple to three weeks (in my experience), but when they take affect they really work well. Your G.P. obviously feels that you need them and so I am sure you will find a diffrence if you decide to go with it and not let the side effect scare you off. thanks. I will take them but I am just worried incase I freak out at work. I think I might leave it for a few weeks until I am off on holiday. thanks for your support. smile

My advice would be to keep trying with them - I suffer from life crippling panic attacks with OCD and a type of Bi Polar disorder thrown in for good measure! I have been taking Citalopram for over 7 years,it does work.
