Not sure if tabs have kicked in yet

Only been on my new tablets about 4 weeks and still feel low and it's not right don't know why the Dr took me off sertraline an put me on these citalopram either they don't work or they just haven't kicked in yet I don't want to go down the angry crying all the time I can't cope route as it's Christmas soon and my children need their mum happy

Hi Elsieg. I'm sorry to hear that you are suffering. I am going through exactly the same thing but my doctor took me straight off 40mgs citalopram and straight onto 100mgs sertraline. The anxiety is crippling. I don't know if it's withdrawal from one or side effects of the new one. I've read that it can take 6-8 weeks to kick in and this is week 8. I feel so bad. I rang doctor two days ago and he's upped the sertraline to 125mgs. Now I'm going through more anxiety because of the increase. I have a very supportive family and they keep reminding me that it's not me, it's the drugs. It's just a case of hanging in there until (hopefully) the new drugs start to work. I wish you every success in your recovery. Somewhere our brains remember what it feels like to be calm. We just need to try and focus on how we will feel when this passes. Hope you have an enjoyable Xmas and feel much better very soon. Xxx

I started my Sertraline yesterday.  Whether it is a coincidence or not I had a bad night, couldn't sleep. I am on 50mg. Has anyone experienced this?

Whilst on sertraline I couldn't sleep tossed and turned was like a walking zombie most of the time since starting these new tablets I still hardly sleep but do catch a few hours to me sertraline were the best out of the tablets I have been on but the Dr felt the need to take me off them sad
