Hi all. I feel very silly asking these questions - especially as I'm 53 and should be much better informed than I am.
I was on Livial for a total of 6 years, with a break after two when I had a distasterous experience with a Mirena coil and topical progestrone. Three weeks ago my gyne took me off Livial to see how I'd get on. Towards the end of taking it I felt symptoms like PMS and has a small breakthough bleed (looking back this could have occured as a result of a colonoscopy I had when I had the torrential diarrhea what goes with the preparation for that procedure!)
Anyway, over the last week I am sweating a lot. But its not like i have seen described by other people. I don't get flushed in the face and it doesn't interfere with my sleep (not yet anyway!) - I just feel sweaty and clammy and then, on occasions, I get cold.
I also have constant pains in my legs - almost like I had walked for miles or exercised. I had these to some extent while on Livial too, so I don't know if they are associated.
I am really tired as well and have moods that can change like the flick of a switch! I can go to bed in one mood and be entirely different the following day and feel like my life is over and I can't even face doing the simpliest of things. But I was also like this on Livial for two weeks of every month.
My question is, was the Livial not working for me? Was I experiencing menopause symptoms despite being on it? Is the type of sweating I am getting menopause related or not 'hot flushing' at all?
I am due back to the gyne next week to see how I am doing and I don't want to seem like a dithering fool who doesn't know what's normal or not!!
Thanks everyone!!
best to discuss with your gyno
good luck hun

sounds like as you have stopped HRT now the peri and meno symptoms are returning.. HRT only postpones the menopause .. when its stopped the symptoms may return .. ( something doctors dont tell you)
your body will be readjusting to its natural hormonal decline and maybe thats why meno symptoms are coming, tiredeness, hot flushes, anxiety, tearfulnessm the list goes on

Yes honey..that DOES sound like your body is in shock after the medication....discuss all this with your doctor.
I was advised to " wean myself off " off mine...which I did very successfully over a period of time, medication, patches, cut the patches in halt etc,etc,..if you read the advisories in the meds themselves...in VERY small print ! They tell you that this will probably happen...
keep a diary of your feelings, symptoms...and show it to the doctor ( and your partner)
make them listen to you hun.....you're not making a fuss about nothing !!!
good Luck💝
Hi i did the same just come off hrt the Dr told me to but i was only on it for 6 months,it didnt agree with me.I went out and bought menopace and fx nutrition i get hot at night but not like the sweats that was waking me up plus i dont get hot flushes during the day now which were unbearable. I stoped having caffine alcohol and changed my diet. Also take magneseun at night.Good luck, dont stress over this too much as this can cause sweats too xxx
Hi Shazanne
it could be because you stopped your HRT that your symptoms are coming back. They say never go off medication with out letting your doctor know
I would go talk to your doctor and see what medication will be gooid for you
Why would I have had some of these symptoms while taking Livial - that is what is really confusing me! I thought HRT was designed to stop these symptoms?? I think that's why I am so puzzled about the way I am feeling now and am wondering if the Livial was working at all! Grrrrr - I hate being confused over it!!!!!
her gyno took her off it she said, her doctor knows

hi Shazanne
well HRT helps some, but its a set amount in the tablets so may not be exactly what the body needs .. no perfect match ..
i have looked at Levial ( Tibolone ) before, well wondered about it, here its called Tibolono Teva i think and only 2.5mg, i think you can also get a 1.25 mg in Uk which did you take .. the lower or the higher ..
i feel your frustration, sometimes post meno like i am i have days when i think i need help, but then i know i cant, other than my wonderful ovestin vaginal ovules ( eatriol the weaker estrogen) for VA and ovestin cream thats been such a help for the dryness issues ( only treats that issue though) been using it since sept and the difference has been amazing .
wish you well and hope you get some help with it
