Now that I have HSV-2 how Do i go about everyday Lifes

So I just recently found out I have HSV2 and everything I have researched give me hope then on the other hand drove me CRAZY .

All my question I want to know but no direct answers. Some doctors are no help

1. How to care for my son do I wear gloves all the time or not touch him at all? (He is one)

2. I work with paper that goes to other people do i need to tell me job ?

3. Can I still get my nails and toes done?

4. I usally sleep naked do now need to stay covered up.

5. Going to get my hair do i tell them hey I have Herpes so make sure u use gloves ...

6. Hand sanitizer always use that whenever I go out touching door or anything... and do that even help.

7. Do i still go to a regular OB/Gyn for my appointment or Do I need to go to infection disease doctor

8. How do you break it your family or is it worth telling them

9. Sometimes my friends or family kiss me on my cheek should I say hey no dont do that I have Herpes you cant touch.

10. Can i still go a have a drink or will that make me have a breakouts? I dont really drink but have a wine every now and then

11. Do anybody know of doctors in United State that actually know about herpes I am talking like specialty?

12. Why do some doctors act o its nothing go on with your then other are like they dont even know?

13. When preparing food like home made hamburgers or any food should now where gloves.? (Im always cooking and having cookouts

now I am like when i made them hamburgers did i give herpers to somebody.)

14. Sharing soap, drinks , towels, pots, forks,etc.

15. Have anybody have friends or family members turn on you beacuse of this I told 2 good friends one was like u will be ok the other like u cant be going like this with herpes dont touch this or that so I had to stop talking to here mind you I use found out Tuesday.

16 Do i start meds even though i am not having a out break to atleast help reduce the virus or do it even do that.

I just want some direct answers and its hard to try to get some clarity when its so confusing. I just want to make sure I am doing everything right.

Do you have hsv2 orally or genitally? I would assume genitally but let me know if it's oral. On the assumption of genital hsv2, the concern would be what comes in contact with your genital area. Have you ever had an outbreak?

1) Unless you plan on rubbing your sons crotch against your crotch there is no risk of him catching it, It's on one area of your skin not the whole of your skin

5) No, It's not spread in your hair unless they're cutting and dying their genital hair with their genitals you are all good

7) Go to a regular doctor, it's a skin condition not malaria

8) Unless you are planning on shagging your family members you don't need to tell them 

9) No because it's not on your cheek, if you have type 1 orally then yes they could catch it but you don't

13) No because you don't cook with your genitals and even if you did it's not spread that way

15) Don't see why the bitch turned on you, there is NO WAY they are catching it unless they have sex with you, touch them all you want, hell even spit on them (especially that one friend) and they won't get it

16) It's up to you, meds are only really for constant outbreaks, you might not have that, it's like taking tablets for a headache when you don't have a headache 

You seem very naive (hate to be rude) Your doctors don't seem to help you at all, I think you need to do more research

This virus isn't all over your body, wherever you got your outbreak that is where it is

You sound just like I did when I first found out in December of last year. I think I can answer some, if not all of your questions. You care for your son and love on him like you always did. You don't have to wear gloves. I stopped kissing my kids until my doctor told me I was going overboard. You don't have to tell your job if you don't want to. I get my nails and feet done a couple times a month. I still sleep naked in the bed with my husband. You don't have to tell your hairstylist about it and even though using hand sanitizer is a good idea, you don't really have to over do it. I still continue to see my regular GYN and I've only told a few people who I'm close to but no one treats me any different than they did before they knew. I still kiss my kids like I did before I found out (not including my first few weeks of freaking out). I have hsv 1 & 2 but I've never in my life had any cold sores so my doctor told me I shouldn't worry about that. You can still have an occasional drink and when cooking, no need to wear gloves. Just wash your hands with soap and water before cooking, which anybody should do. I share drinks with my kids and they always eat off of me. As far as the soap and towels, I still freak out a little about that so I labeled my big towels and make sure no one uses my soap. My doctor told me I can still wash all our things together as well. I started taking 1 dose a day of 500mg Valacyclovir because I had one bery very mild outbreak. Althought it was painful, I know it could've been 10x worse. I live a stressful life. Wife, kids, going back to work soon, I'm a Psychology major and I have other issues that suppress my immune system so we decided on me taking a daily suppressive. I also have a bottle of 1g of Valacyclovir just in case I start to feel something. I hope I answered your questions! Feel free to ask me anything else

From my test hsv 2 postive so i assume genital herpes. See i am still trying to figure out about the outbreaks. Ive made keloids all my life and got bad skin but. Ive never had a sore on my mouth or vagina. But now that I have learned it can be anywhere i need to examine my body more.

Yes i found out on Tues... I felt like omg .. my life is over god just come get me now but then i had to jump back to reality. I thought i needed be like the movie the boy in the bubble. Or i had a sign on me. The last couple days Ive been going crazy .... trying to find answers etc.

Yea that's normal. When I found out I couldn't eat, could you sleep and couldn't stop crying but since I've been on the daily suppressive I've been fine. I also take a multivitamin and have changed the way I eat. I want to start exercising soon but I almost always have pain from my Endometriosis so I have to find other alternatives.

When u say change your diet is there something i should be eating I see some people drink green tea. Should i be taking more vitamins if so which ones.

I eat way more fruits and vegetables, less processed food, drink less soda and more water, done eat any fried foods really. I take a women's multivitamin, One A Day is the name of them. I drink green tea as well.

Since you likely have it genitally, the only concern in terms of transmission is through skin-to-skin sexual contact with your genital area (with or without lesions present). All other forms of general, casual and social contact are fine.
