I'm a 20 year old male. I have a section of the top of my knee to about 2 inches above my knee that is numb. It's been like this for awhile now, maybe months, maybe longer. If I'm on my feet for an extended period of time, it starts to burn. I'm around 5'10" 250lbs. I do have a history of my knees "popping" when I play sports sometimes. That usually involves a ton of pain and my knee swelling. After one knee pop, my knee was swollen for months. I'm willing to answer any questions if it helps figure out what's wrong with my knee.
Hey Sono - that numbness could be coming from your back or your knee - I would go to an orthopedic they will X-ray and figure out what's going on - luck !
Not to worry you, but numbness generally indicates some sort of nerve involvement. It could be something swollen pressing on the nerve, and yes the only to discover what exactly the problem is to see a physician. Knees are tricky buggers so many parts in play. Here's hope that answers come your way.
You need to get to any orthopedic specialist. Too many things can go wrong to guess and some of there can result in long term or permanent injury. I'm not comfortable trying to tell you anything but I'll be weight and activity are. Son ER tho g to consider.
