Hi
Why am I getting this numbness (which is more pronounced when I am wearing socks and shoes than when I am bare footed)?
How can I address this situation? I can live with it but it feels strange walking.
Thank you, Jeremy

Hi Jeremy, could it possibly be that there too tight, can't imagine it can be anything else or it would do the same when you were bear footed, do you get it when laying down.
Is it just operated leg
It is possible to get numbness for a variety of reasons, not necessarily anything to do with having had a THR. I would contact your GP and ask for tests
Could be coming from lower back. Do you have back issues? I was getting tingling in pinkie toe and in calf. Also numbness. Mine was back and had injection done. Contact your dr and explain your symptoms. Good luck and let us know how you are doing.
I've had niggling awareness after THR that the lower back is not 100%. But it has been more than bearable. I will ask the dr. Thanks for the advice
Hi Jeremy
I have a numbness on the top of my foot but it is also on the ide and bottom going to the toes. I have had a nerve conduction test and have been told I have damaged nerves. They tell me there is nothing they can do only give me tablets but nothing seems to ease it. If you get any satisfaction please let me know.
wishing you al the best

Hi Brenda
Thanks for your reply.
Since Thursday night (it's now Saturday evening) the weather being quite warm, I've been bare footed, and numbness has almost disappeared.
I have a theory (wishful thinking maybe!) that in this warm summer when going to work booted and suited, the heat enlarges the feet and the pointed shoes apply the pressure on them thus causing numbness. I think there may be something in this as when I take my shoes and sicks off when I get home from work numbness immediately disappears. Also I didn't feel the numbness in the cold winter and milder spring that followed. I do not take any medication as, as such I am not in pain. The only concern I have is when I have numbness I have the strange sensation that when walking the bases of my feet to the front feel as if I am walking on a hard surface. However I can live with that.
I hope things improve for you. Please keep the forum posted on your progress.
Jeremy
