This morning and yesterday evening I’ve been having a sudden on and off pain in my lower back, it’s not that painful but I’ve also been having numbness and tingling in my hand and arm. Occasionally I feel like blood is rushing to my head, which makes my anxiety worse. Are these anxiety related symptoms? I know a lot of physical issues are related to mental ones. Sometimes these symptoms go away but come back a bit later.

My Chronic Disability causes me problems associated with numbness and pins and needles. In my case they know the cause I live with it as I am doing at the moment.
Depending on your age, you need to work out if it is to do with poor ciurculation or trapped nerves.
If it happens in the morning it could be blood supply and this can be age related.restricted blood supply can also be effected by the way you sleep.
Personally I would discuss this with your GP especially if mid age has struck

Hi, I’m 17 so I don’t think age has anything to do with it. It’s been happening on and off the whole day, not just the morning.

I do not know your age, we are all different, I am sixty seven, no young chicken
If you are thin with small hands you may be more effected by the cold weather, I gather you must live in the UK, it has been bitterly cold today and it is still snowing in the North East. If you have been outside your hands will feel cold and their blood supply will be restricted because of the cold. If your hands have been cold, wait a while when you get in and place your hands into warm water this will open up your blood supply and help your circulation. Poor circulation can also be caused as you awake or if you have not been using your fingers etc. You seem to have had this problem for less than twenty four hours, see how it goes, if not happy talk to your GP

Hi Naomi I would suggest seeing your GP tomorrow for a check up , you need a physical examination of your back to rule out a disc problem. If it worsens then you can always ring 111 if in UK> Take care
Hi again As I suggested a few minutes ago I would ring 111 for advice. It may be due to a problem with your neck but a quick chat with an out of hours dr can help fathom out what is going on.
