numbness in upper leg and lower abdomen, prolapsed disc

After a particularly strenuous bout on my exercise bike I noticed a numbness in my left knee that radiated to the top of my leg. My gp diagnosed a prolapsed disc. I am now aware of numbness in my left groin and lower left abdomen. Is this normal, I have no pain but my knee feels a bit unstable on occasion.

How did your GP diagnose a prolapsed disc ??

You need to be in contact with Orthopedic's

He didn't examine me, just asked where the numbness was on my leg, at that point I wasn't aware of the numbness on my left side. However, earlier in the week I went to a walk in clinic and they thought it was a compressed nerve in my leg, a diagnosis my go disagreed with.

He didn't examine me,just based his diagnosis on where the numbness was on my leg, from my left knee up to my hip. At that point I hadn't noticed the numbness down my left side. However I did visit a walk in clinic when I first did it and they diagnosed a compressed nerve in my leg, a diagnosis my GP didn't agree with.

you really should ask for a referral to a consultant so that you get the right treatment physio etc...

the nerve from your knee to the spinal cord is trapped in the area where your prolapse is.  All areas in between are in an excitary phase of electrical activity.  So you will feel it in your groin and abdomen.  I hope yu get the right treatment and feel better soon.
