Numbness & sensitivity

Hello hippies I was just wondering if anyone out there has experiencing numbness on the operated leg, tenderness of the skin, my skin is so tender at times I can barely put the sheet on it!! 😖 and Im still numb in some areas of the thigh. I'm 13 days out today.

I am a day 5 post op hippie girl

Each day better circulation

I have had pt already maybe they will guide u

I guess we should expect lots if soft numbness places considering what our surgery was

I recall in hospital i loved ice for that does it help u?

Keep us posted

Jozie

I've been icing and doing warm pack too. I really haven't noticed much difference when using only when I walk a lot and need it most. Thank you!! 🤗🤗

It's been four weeks since my Op. (right hip) the operation site is fine, and no pain from the hip, but my lower leg is swollen and very sore, more like a stinginig or burning sensation, very bad first thing in the morning, and again in the evening, can't get my shoe on either.

Hi, yes!  Numbnessaround the wound site and hypersensitivity of other bits of the skin. Was told to expect this. It is settling down. Realy not bothered. 6 week tomorrow  and realy better each day. Apparently the surface nerves have to be cut and take a while to sort themselves out. Also we may end up with. Permanent numb patch.

Compared to the OA pain it is a small price to pay. I am hardly playing Piano or texting with my bum!

You are through the worst. Honestly will feel better soon.

Healing Fairy Dust coming your way!  ðŸŒŸðŸ’«

Thank you!! Appreciate it! 🤗🤗

Hi LInda, I am 10 weeks post op and I still have a numb spot right on the side of my thigh. Not sure how long this is supposed to last but 13 days post op is still really early. Your incision is still healing and so are your muscles and tendons etc....it is normal to be tender. Wishing you well.....Barb

Thank you! Some days the tenderness is pretty intense!! Hugs! 🤗🤗

Anterior?

Yes. Right now the skin is very sensitive. Not at the incision sight but lower just above knee. And numb on side of thigh.

hi linda

THR is major surgery - eventhough muscles and tendons were not cut with anterior approach, the hardware still needed to be banged in, so to speak - the femur took a beating and the surrounding tissues as well - even now, many months post-op from 2 THR surgeries, there are rimes that there is tenderness on thighs -----

when is your follow up appointment ?

of course, when you experience an increase in pain or have a fever or are concerned, please see your surgeon -

big warm hug

renee

Actually my numbness is mostly my same leg top of foot

I am heading to day 7

But at nite sometimes feels way better

We just should expect some soft neuralgia this year

I am thinking

All the best

J

Thank you Renee. My f/u with surgeon is Aug 9. Still having difficulty walking due to a lot of pain. 😖 The tenderness of skin gets pretty intense at night.
