Nurse

quick update,

my personal care nurse from the hospital just called to ask me how I was doing, and did I have any problems or questions, how nice and thoughtful, I told how I was doing, she said seems like you have it nailed, but don't hesitate to call me any time if you have any problems, now that's what I call service, just goes to show after the cock up before my opp. with the booking office and my subsequent letter to the CEO, now they are falling over themseles to make up for the mistake, and apparaently the entire booking office staff are being re trained , I call that a result!!

Good for you, Lynne!  More should be challenging poor service.

I am about to take legal advice on my experience. My first surgeon failed to notice, from X-rays, that the head of my device, together with its 7 screws, had come loose. For THREE YEARS. It was only when I went for a second opinion that this came to light. All that pain and having to retire!

Blimey Lynne. Are you in the uk?

Kate

Hi Lynne, sounds to me like you are not a UK resident.  And if you are I'm moving!  Seriously, I'm fast approaching my 18 week "deadline" ie government recommended wait time after seeing a consultant.  I haven't been given any information either verbally or in writing and if it wasn't for this forum I'd still in the dark and worrying myself sick over what is before me.  Wherever you are I'm glad that you are at last getting some decent treatment, good luck to you and best wished for a full and speedy recovery.

brilliant. So many are afraid to complain in case medical staff hold it against them but yours had had a very positive affect--- well done

have you tried ringing the consultants secretary, she should be able to tell where you are on the list,

Well done for complaining... not many people do so things don't improve. It really does sound as if you made them all jump.

Linne,

well done! You deserve this extra kind treatment fter all the upset you had to go through...

Enjoy your day!

Ella

I asked the gp to refer me to the consultant here who works in the private hospital but does take nhs patients. The appt came thro within 2 weeks and I could have had it done 4 weeks later. You should chase up the paperwork because it does sound to be taking too long

Hope you get in soon

Kate x

two thumbs up ---- not just for you but now for the higher good of all ....

She's up in bonnie Scotland..... och the noo

Well done Lynne! A right result, I'm pleased for you and others who follow who'll benefit from your stance

in answer to your questions,

I am in the UK, but I have dual status, I have lived in the USA for 20 years in the 70's and I tend to abide by the american way, if in dounbt sue!! and I won't be spoke down to, I expect good service no matter whether it's in a hotel bar or a hospital, and if I don't get it, I will and do complain to the highest level, it's always worked for me, as you say people seem to except shoddyness and don't speak up, and nothing changes, you have to stand up for whats right!! end of rant lol
