Well done, for taking control of your diet!! A word of caution. The internet can be a scare place when it comes to the vast number of diet plans to try. It will become overwhelming to choose and stick to it. Remember, all these plans do NOT suit everyone.
I think it would be best if your saw your GP first and they will refer you to a dietitian or nutritionist. The dietitian or nutritionist will work with you and design a diet plan and exercises that will help you reach your goal.

i did ask my doctor to refer me, he said he did not think I needed to see a nutritionist, I have hardly any appetite, menopausal and seb derm on my face, which the doctor was no help to me.

Think you really need to get a second opinion! I am so surprised that your doctor did not suggest you not see a diet specialist or even give you guidance on how to best start your new diet and exercise plan. Did your doctor not even suggest joining any well-known diet groups? Some of these groups are not just about losing weight, but, also about learning how to eat well.
I understand it is hard to be really frank with someone about how you are feeling and what is going on in your life. Do be honest with your doctor. It is the only way to get a true diagnosis from them. Take care of yourself.

Raw food and Fruitarian nutrition plans are the best way to go. The fruitarian diet is usually a strict raw foods diet of pretty much exclusively fruits, along with sometimes adding eco-friendly leafy vegetables. Raw food diets normally include nuts along with seeds, sometimes. Gourmet raw food is usually a raw food life-style that contains a lot of recipes, and most of them call for a lot of fat and nuts.
I think you should consult a doctor.

Assuming you are in the UK I would highly recommend Slimming world.
it is a friendly group of people who meet once a week with a person trained to help you loose weight. It sounds that you are like me. I belong to a family who are prone to obesity but I decided to go along to Slimming world and at the same time, mainly due to my love of animals, become a veggie. I lost about two and a half stone quite easily. I do sometimes let go but as soon as I put on half a stone I resume the diet and am soon back to my prefered weight. Hope this helps and best wishes.

Thanks to all of your for your replies, I have had many tests at my doctors, all of them were clear, and i may have IBS, my doctor will not confirm this untill i see a gastro consultant, my appointment with him is in November, i suppose i just have to suffer untill then.
I am losing weight as eating makes my problem worse.

When I was monitoring my nutrition when I was dieting, I put a spreadsheet together so that every time I ate something I would enter the data off the can/tin/packet or research it from the web (e.g. for fruit and veg). After a while you'll have a good list of what foods contain: fat, water, potein, salt, sugars ... it really depends on how detailed you want to go

admitting that you could eat healthier is the first step, so well done. Why do you think your diet is bad? Are you over/under weight or have any other problems through what you are eating?
i know from personal experience that a diet can't be changed in a day, so take little steps at a time. Maybe you could start with breakfast. if you have a good breakfast in the morning you will not need to snack later in the morning, which for a lot of people means a bar of chocolate or crisps. A good breakfast also sets you up for the day. A breakfast needs to contain carbohydrtaes for energy, some protein (very little though) and vitamins. So how about some porridge with a sliced banana in it, a glass of fruit juice and a cup of tea?
There are many site where you are advised on healthy eating I am sure. Most of all cut down on your sugar (sugary cerials etc).

When I needed this i researched it myself. It takes time but if it is important why not spend time on it. Nobody can give you a one size fits all answer. We all need a different diet. Pay a naturopath to sort one out for you otherwise but it will be expensive.

just get back to basics. You need three meals a day consisting of carbohydrates (complex ones you find in fruit, bread etc), proteins and vitamins/minerals and you can get all that by eating natural freshly prepared food (and I don't mean chips, because you should cut out fat, especially in fried form). If you normally eat huge meals, make them smaller gradually, cook your veg so they are still slightly crunchy (they taste better that way but they keep more of the goodness this way), eat salads (but make your own dressing out of olive oil and a bit of vinegar and stay away from ready meals. If you eat regular every four hours, good food (no sugary stuff) you can't go wrong.
Watch the excellent bbc programme (now on iplayer, 3 episodes) 'What's the right diet for you', not just for those who want to lose weight but also a good scientifically researched guide to healthy eating for different types of eaters. Highly recommended.
I fully support this approach. It might feel a bit sciency and it is a bit time consuming but it's a great way to educate yourself about food. I kept a detailed record and I checked in the Composition of Foods by McCance and Widdowson for their estimates of the carbohydrate, protein and fat content etc. I was surprised to discover just how much water there is in meat, fruit and vegetables. It seems that nuts provide enough energy to power a small town. Goodness, 200g of nuts? 1200 kcal. And in one day too.
