occupational therapy

hello, thanks for the hints about the walk in bath, i agree it might be difficult to sit and wait for the bath to fill up.

i also need the chairs making higher, so today have asked for the occupational therapy people to visit, and make an assesment for needs etc. heavens knows how long i will have to wait for a visit. please everyone keep sending in your thoughts and findings, they are all so interesting, and of such a great help. other medical conditions often make it difficult to see if it is the pmr. that is causing the most problems or not. but gradually i am beginning to reckognise them. the phelebitis has rather shielded things of late. does anyone else take morphine for pain. ? m, edwards

Yes Margaret

Sometimes because of the current situation with knee and pseudo gout, I have been prescribed Tramadol. Brilliant, but the knock me out for quite sometime. So its just one when it gets unbearable. GP says other people can take one four times a day. Funny folks us.

Co-codamol has morphine in it as well.

Its the anti inflammatories that are a no no.

thanks mrs k. about the tramadol, i was taking that at the four times a day, it made me feel sick, and did not touch the pain, doctor thought the codiene and paracetomol was also out for me as codiene, and the co-codimal also did not touch the pain . i take the four paracetomal a day as well as the morphine. i take three 10 mg tablets a day, and then a 12 hour acting one overnight of 30 mg. it does not kill the pain, but makes it bearable. the main problem i have now is an inability to sleep longer tham an hour to two hours at a time. thenb i get no more sleep for the night. m. edwards

OK, I know I have said this before but as it works for me, I pass it on.

Brandy - invented in the medieval ages by Monks as a Medicine.

One measure, (I use the silver plastic thingy that comes on the top of Scheppes bottles - to the first line)

Hold you nose and chuck it down (I just do not like the taste).

The relief kicks in about 10 minutes later - bliss for a couple of hours.

Better than any painkiller tablet I know of.

Scotch works, too ( for me at least ) and I DO like the taste. Betty E.
