Hallo everybody. I've had a few:
Metallic taste
Have gone off meat (have to cut it up like a child to make it palatable - mincemeat is OK)
Milk in tea - how can you go off TEA?
Milk in general - how does one make banana/strawberry milk shakes now?
Red wine (alas!)
Any others anyone?
Hi constance,
I have been off chocolate since getting PMR but it has left me with a very sweet tooth since then, can't get enough Belgium Buns or Wholemeal Biscuits. Have managed to cut down a lot but luckily it has not stopped me from drinking tea or coffee. All the best, Dave (tavidu)
The red wine bit was a factor for several of us - that was the pred. Others found some white wines too acid but not others. When I started taking pred the craving for carbs that had appeared every afternoon while I had undiagnosed PMR vanished overnight!
Yes, red wine was the first casualty and now most white wines too..........I'm sticking to whisky! But when my daughter first went to New Zealand she found she couldn't drink tea and now drinks coffee..........but she hasn't got PMR!
I am surprised the "oddities" come PMR. Just thought it must be pred! How can an illness make you go off particular foods??!!
So glad it was not me! I experienced this metallic taste thing in August and it only ladled a couple or so weeks. I was thinking what are the farmers spraying now? I moved onto what am I eating, the supermarkets are poisoning me!
Yes, it was the dear old Prednisolone again, don't you just love'em! I blamed wine of any colour, then it was processed food, I looked everywhere and drove my wife mad with my fads. But I could drink honey flavoured Jack Danuels and dud!
it all went, back to normal. For me it looks like part of 'this' life and the path it follows.
it does go - it did for me . . . .
Ive got a pair of arms that could double as bottle brushes, talk about hairy, I've even grown hair on my knees. Alas I can't seem to get it to move to back of my head where it is needed. Any suggestions anyone?. Oh yes! my trousers have mysteriously shrunk about the waist band and my shirts about the collar. Joking aside, the metalic taste, do you take Omeprazole. My friend who has been taking it for years and will be for the rest of his life told me when I started on them that they have this effect on him, but they don't on me.
