Off medication!

I've recently decided to go off all medication prescribed to me by my ex-dermatologist. I was on a low dosage of accuntane teamed with a contraceptive pill (which ended up giving me melasma/hyperpigmentation on my face!).

I made the decision to go off the medication for many reasons, but the main ones being that I didn't see much of an improvement with accutane, it made me so dry all over except for my affected areas on my butt cheeks and groin. I also hate taking the contraceptive pill now as it's caused my skin to darken in small areas on my face. Very upsetting.

I am wanting to move onto a more natural form of treatment. This forum has taught me that there may be issues with food we are eating that causes HS, or at least fuels it.

I am also wanting to learn more about treating spots with natural remedys like oils and exfolients.

If anyone has been through the same deal or might have some tips for me I would greatly apreciate it! Thanks smile

My daughter has hs and she went for a food and alergie test which showed that she was dairy intolerance also her magnesium levels were very low so since cutting out dairy it has got a lot better and she takes probably biotics. She is almost hs free .Hope this helps.

Pro biotics!! Sorry predictive text

I stay in remission as long as I don't eat my food sensitivities...nightshades, coconut (including palm oil) and nuts. Everyone can have different food sensitivities. I am very strict with my diet. Look up "nightshades and autoimmune". HS is autoinflamatory Condition. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips Debbon, I think a food alergy test will be the way to go! Cheers

I have heard about nightshade foods bring bad for HS suffers. How odd. I will definitely try to cut these out. Thanks heaps!
