Oily stools.

About four years ago I was experiencing horrible rt quadrant pain that would wrap around my mid upper back. Tests came back fine, until I started vomiting, had nonstop diarrhea, and the pain was much worse. Had a HIDA scan and my gallbladder came back functioning at 3%, had no inflammation, no evidence of sludge or stone. Woke up from surgery still in excruiating pain but much worse. Ended up having two rare bile leaks at my pancratic duct and liver duct due to the surgery. Keep fast forwarding, Im still having extreme epigastric pain, and in my mid back. The pain will radiate to my left side and right just under my breasts. The last few months Ive been noticing lighter colored stool and oil in the toliet bowl. Ive had chronic diarrhea since before I had my surgery. I have a hard time making it to the bathroom due to these bouts of diarrhea. Im very concerned with the oilyness and pale stools that ive been having. I havent lost weight, I am bloated, I have diarrhea about 5-7 times a day, no fevers or chills, just extreme horrible attacks in my epigastric area and back.

Ask about bile acid malabsorption which can happen after gallbladder removal. Ask for a SECHAT to confirm it.

The chief constituents of the feces are bile, remains of digestive juices, especially of the pancreatic juice, mucus, excretory substances thrown off by the intestinal mucous membrane, microbes and various poisons produced by microbes, such as indol, skatol, pyrrol, and numerous other poisons, together with some small amounts of the various food principles and water. – John Harvey Kellogg, M.D. I think the main concern for this is diarrhea in which can signify some malabsorption of the the food you’re taking.
