Ointments

Hi, I have been now prescribed some Proctosedyl ointment and Suppository but unsure where to apply the ointment, do this go around the anus or do I have to insert the nozzle and apply on the inside? I have applied some around the anus today as a kick start but had some spasms/tightening around 10-15 minutes after, I barely touched the anus - is this normal for a fissure? Thanks

do what the instructions says. but I do think you should put it inside as well

I’ve been using the same. I dont use the nozzle and I put on my clean finger and put it around and inside…just be gentle esp if you get spasms

Personally I couldn’t put it inside as the pain was too much. The consultant suggested applying on the outside and massaging it in and that it would achieve the same results
