Tony
I'm 68. My prostate was 185cc. I recently had FLA in Houston. I had the operation on 6th July 2017 and I'm doing well. You can find out more about FLA on this site - a number of guys who have had the same procedure with the same doctor are on this site too. If you would like to know more you can contact me privately.

Prostates don't have to be removed just because they are "near record size". Depending on your symptons and diagnosis, there are other options available that are less invasive with fewer side effects. How many urologists have you consulted for your problem?
Jim
Hey Tony. You don't say how old you are. I would go get another opinion. You don'e need your prostate removed all the is going to do is cause you more problems. Paul had a good out come with his surgery but there are other thing you can to. To me it seam like your urologist has you scared that there is no help for you. Tell him know and look into some else. There are many procedure out there that will help you. The only thing I will say and I know I will here about it is Stay away for a Turp surgery no man should have to go through that. To much bleeding and more problem. Look in Laser, PAE, Urolift, FLA, Rezum. There are logs of thing that will help you Take care Ken
Quite a few people on these forums that have had successful PAE procedures; contact their doctors or just get more info from the posters prior to getting a second opinion, with a PAE specialist in your area.
The more you learn and educate yourself, the better off you will be.
