I have been with the same man for 17 years. Have a 16 yo son. When I was pregnant in 2001 had full std screen...included herpes and hiv...was totally clear. Fast forward to 2015..husband cheated and gyn suggested full std screening... herpes came back positive. Fast forward to 2017..ex husband is tested and boom he says he is negative. My numbers were high...over 5....that tends to say not a false positive. We have had unprotected sex for 17 years, I have NOT strayed, how is this possible? On another note...i have never had an outbreak...so I am really confused as to what is going on.
Which type do you have (HSV1, HSV2)? Which test did your ex have done (IgM, IgG, other)? Did you see his results?
I have both and no I did not see his. I have advised him to go back to his GP and make sure he was tested for HSV that not all STD tests include Herpes, especially if you have no symptoms. I have advised him that I do not believe he is negative, it would be a miracle with my numbers at 4 and 5 respectively and with me having no other partner for 16 years.
It will be interesting to find out whether he was even tested for it the first time, and how he scores in the IgG tests! Ask him to show you the results.
