For nearly two weeks, on my right foot, there's an old, worn out-looking toenail that seems to be coming off. Just underneathe I can see a new, fresh nail.
This has never happened to me before, so I'm not sure what to do. Any attempt at pulling it off, hurts badly. The old nail seems to be titling too, the end part loose but the top part still stuck on the toe.
What should I do? Let it come off on its own or take action?
Patience!! It will drop off when it is ready.
If it is really painful you could visit a chiropodist. I had an ingrowing toenail which I had put up with for months and on visiting a local chiropodist she sorted it out in half a second. It did cost thirty pounds but was well worth it and I wished I had done it ages ago.
It doesn't hurt if I leave it alone. I hurts only when I pull, but...does that count?
If you can put up with it, that is fine. It should sort itself out. If it is a problem you can get someone else to sort it out for you!
