Omega 3 oil and magnesium supplements

Hi, I saw a TV show that recommended omega 3 and magnesium for anxiety and depression. Ive checked online and cant see any reason why they could have a negative interaction with citralopram and pregabalin. Anyone here know of any potential issues?

I’m taking them and no interactions that I have noticed my muscle spasms settled down and hair is not falling out as much. I also take centrum silver it’s for people who are over 50 and I’m in late 20s but it helps with my hair loss a lot as it was falling g out due to stress recently.

hi lou my psychiatrist said no issue with taking those, or vitamin b complex which is also supposed to be good

I do the same as LaLa-centrum silver, omega 3, and Magnesium. No issues at all with the Cit

i think hair loss is a side effect of ssri’s an uncommon one, i get it x

hi lou, im super sensitive so i try to get everything i need from food, have tried various vitamins and they all triggered me, you may be different though, i use epsoms salts which contain magnesium and im fine with them, if youre going to introduce those bits, try one at a time and low doses so if they do cause any problems youll know which one it is x

Thank you Toria x I will try omega,3 first and slowly x

Lou
yes im planning on trying these also. ssri withdrawal experts recomend only these two supplements for anxiety and ssri side effects.
magnesium relaxes you. start low and go up too much magnesium can cause diarea.

Think you are right as I got it on citalopram and sertraline. Has yours improved at all. I’m back on citalopram so hoping won’t be too bad. Trying collagen shampoo seems be helping bit. I’m bit wary of any supplements as anything I’ve tried in zop withdrawal made symptoms lot worse.

no worries my lovely x

epsom salts in the bath are perfect for magnesium i use them daily and tuna for lunch x

hey lovely, my hair loss settles a little when im having good days and yes i was exactly the same couldnt tolerate anything except epsom salts in a bath i highly recommend those as they help with anxiety and sleep and even i can tolerate those, how are you feeling today? x

I only shower can you take them by mouth? I’m 4 days into citalopram expect it to be bit up and down first couple weeks, but think slightly better than when on sertraline. Waking at about 4 am every day but do get few hours sleep so could be worse. If it works will put up with the hair problems!

My friend just come off citalopram after several years and then mirttzapine after 2 weeks just told to stop cold turkey feeling awful. Think you are withdrawing told her she should do it over several weeks is that what you would advise?

oh dear doctors eh! mirt the last time withdrawal lasted 5 months then i was fine, you can use epsom salts in a bowl as a foot soak to get magnesium x

Thanks I’ll give them a try. Did you find the citalopram helped? Do find this forum is a real support. A friend recently told me I was the only one who could make myself better not exactly what you need!

to be honest i never had anxiety until withdrawal and cit didnt suit me, it does for so many others, forums are great, when i was going through mirt withdrawal i started my own support group on facebook, its still going today and has helped many people, this is a really tough thing to go through but we will all get there, patience is key x

yes thanks toria another withdrawal support forum had the magnesium bath in the list. i wished i had known all this im learning years ago all the times ive tried to come ff ssris. 10% per month taper is working great so far:) most and i mean almost all drs know nothing about ssri withdrawal !
