I've just started 20mg omeprazole for suspected stomach ulcer. How long do side effects last. Feeling nauseous, shaky and exhausted. Are these normal side effects
Quite normal, max for 2 weeks in my opinion but they should be diminishing slowly... If things don't get better, then go to your GP to change the drug. I had terrible bloatnes and then I stopped with the drug for 3 days and then continued on it after 3 days and everything was fine then. Remember, we are all different, but you'll find out how to manage the situation..
Yes these are just a few of the many side effects of this poison. My advice is to read as much as possible about this horrible drug before getting in too deep. I was on it and Lansoprazole (prevacid) for more than three years and had every side effect u can think of. Weight loss,heart palpitations(severe) brain fog,shakiness and exhaustion. Its been about a month since I quit cold turkey and side effects are still noticeable but not as severe. Please seek an alternative for your condition and best wishes
Hi dale your side effect sound so much like mine.i constantly feel light headed and constantly shaky especially in my hands. body aches it's really getting me down.i still sometimes get pain in my upper left abdomen but the omeprazole does help with that I think.
Ofcourse it does It rescued my life for numerous times, I had internal bleeding ulcer, bleeding, erosive gastritis, erosive esophagitis and the PPI worked like a magic pill, after 6 weeks my stomach lining looked completely healthy. I'm still using it, eating what I want, drinking what I want..
Did your symptoms go away? and if so how long did it take? I started taking Omeprazole 5 days ago and in the past two days got really light headed and tired with bad tension head aches
