On going Benign Prostate Hyperplasia

I have been dealing with this for three years with being very painful to sit. None of the other classic symptoms such as frequent urination or pain while urinating.  I have been checked by a urologist twice over that period. My PSA is ok and no infection detected in my visit a year ago. Never one day does the pain go away, only changes in severity. What worries me now, is a new symptom - brown sperm. Any suggestions or input?  I do have an appointment with urologist next week.

This sounds more like chronic prostatitis than BPH. BPH symptoms are usually difficulty in urinating (slow or intermittent stream, difficulty fully emptying, ect.) not pain when sitting.

Brown semen would indicate there is probably some blood produced within the prostate. That's if your urine is clear and so not coming from the kidneys. Either way, tell your doctor.

As Oldbuzzard said it sounds typical of prostatitis. Brown semen would indicate that it is from old blood.

Find the right urologist, and no more uncertainty

I feel the right one has been found.

It took me 19 years, four incomplete procedures and one stent .

seeing that you have brown sperm, could that be blood in your semen/urine you need to get this checked out as a matter of urgency.let us know what happens.
