Hi everyone
. I am 30 yrs old on hrt patches, because the doctors think i am having a early menapause due to my previous illness of lukemia. I have been using them for 2 years now i think. had a heavy bleed last month also again this month december 2015. Went to see a doctor again, she was not happy with the bleeding and told me to stop using them whih i have. I have been reading that some people have weened themselfs of it. but i just stopped. A bit woried now.
Can anyone help with advice or suggestions. Thank you.
Hi Donna, which patches are you using? I have been using evorel conti patches for13 years, i'm 65 so a lot older. So sorry you are having these problems at such an early age. I tried to come off my patches in october, but my symptoms came back with a vengeance. So i am using them again for me the benefits outweight the risks. It is always best to wean off very slowly. It is not normal to have bleeding if you are on a continous HRT. What were your symptoms that put you on HRT?
Ive been on various patches, trying to find the best ones for me.
I've occasionally stopped using patches, and any other type of HRT, and suddenly getting the meno symptoms again is always very uncomfortable. However, I don't think there's any health issue around coming off them abruptly, just the discomfort of menopause kicking back in. Coming off slowly does make this a bit less dramatic!
Thank you for getting intouch.
The patches i was on are evorel sequi patches change twice a week.
was on them for 2 years. Stopped them last week, as the doctor said i should, and she was going to get in touch with the gynyegoligest. I can"t rember my symptoms,i was dignoised with lukiema 2009. so hadto go through chemo, radiotherpy, i think that is what caused it. but not sure. im not sure why i have a bleed though. it is confuseing.
.
what are the symptoms?
because when doctor was asking me i was looking at them confused.
Most common symptoms are hot flushes and night sweats (severe with me) there are a host of symptoms. Aches and pains.. google menopause symptoms you will find a list of them, see if you are experiencing any of them? Its good you are seeing a gnyno, they will be able to answer your questions and see what is going on. Try not to worry, i know thats easier said than done.
do you think it may be too low of progesterone?
