On nexplanon I got 2 positive and 3negative pregnancy test, could it be a phantom pregnancy?

Ive been on nexplanon for about 3 months now, about 2 months ago i started spotting and switching back and forth to heavy bleeding. A few days ago i got extremely nauseous followed by tender breasts, headaches, period cramping, and my sense of smell is really good. It reminded me of my first pregnancy. I took 2 tests and they came back positive,one of

the second lines were dark so theres no way it was a evap line. Yesterday to be sure i wasnt seeing things i took 3 more, they were negative. one of them had a faint second line the first 3 minutes but then it disappeared. i made an appointment with my Dr to see whats really wrong. But as of now im still bleeding and its a lot of clots that keep falling out. Is there anyway the tests could have been wrong the first time? File size is too big

I had all of those symptoms as well but was never pregnant. those are a lot of typical symptoms with Nexplanon. My period was out of control on it. it would last for a month. I changed to an IUD and things are much better. Glad you are going to the doc.

Hi Cynthia, I was on Nexplenon for almost a year and I always had these symptoms. I feel like this birth control always played tricks on my mind. I also had a few pregnancy scares when the tests would sometimes come out positive, but thankfully I never became pregnant while on it. I know they say “pregnancy symptoms” last for a few months. Goodluck at the doctor’s, I am sure everything will be fine, it’s just that these birth control’s play tricks on our minds
